چکیده

The matrix elements of electroweak currents which occur in exclusive decays of heavy hadrons are evaluated in the nonperturbative light-cone Fock representration. In general, each semileptonic exclusive decay amplitude receives two contributions, a diagonal ∆n = 0 parton-number-conserving amplitude and a ∆n = −2 contribution in which a quark and an antiquark from the initial hadron Fock state annihilate to the leptonic current. The general formalism can be used as a basis for systematic approximations to heavy hadron decay amplitudes such as hard perturbative QCD contributions. We illustrate the general formalism using a simple perturbative model of composite hadrons. Our analysis demonstrates the occurence of “zero-mode” endpoint contributions to matrix elements of the “bad” j currents in the Drell-Yan frame when q → 0. Gauge Theories on the Light-Front

The light-front quantization of gauge theories in light-cone gauge provides a frame-independent wavefunction representation of relativistic bound states, simple forms for current matrix elements, explicit unitary, and a trivial vacuum. The light-front Hamiltonian form of QCD provides an alternative to lattice gauge theory for the computation of nonperturbative quantities such as the hadronic sp...

Partonic content of h1(x) and h2(x).

A light-cone wavefunction interpretation is presented for the polarized distribution functions h1(x) and h2(x). All matrix elements for moments of these distributions are given in terms of overlap integrals between Fock state amplitudes of the target state. In a suitable spinor basis, h1(x) involves only diagonal matrix elements so can be interpreted as a density. Matrix elements of h2(x) conne...

New Directions in Quantum Chromodynamics∗

I review the light-cone Fock state represention and its associated light-cone factorization scheme as a method for encoding the flavor, momentum, and helicity properties of hadrons in the form of universal process-independent and frame-independent amplitudes. Discrete light-cone quantization (DLCQ) provides a matrix representation of the QCD Hamiltonian and a nonperturbative method for computin...

M ar 1 99 6 Semileptonic decays B → ( π , ρ ) eν in relativistic quark model

Quark model results for the B → π, ρ decays are analysed, making use of the dispersion formulation of the model: The form factors at q 2 > 0 are expressed as relativistic invariant double spectral representation over invariant masses of the initial and final mesons through their light–cone wave functions. The dependence of the results on the quark model parameters is studied. For various versio...

Light-Cone Representation of the Spin and Orbital Angular Momentum of Relativistic Composite Systems

The matrix elements of local operators such as the electromagnetic current, the energy momentum tensor, angular momentum, and the moments of structure functions have exact representations in terms of light-cone Fock state wavefunctions of bound states such as hadrons. We illustrate all of these properties by giving explicit light-cone wavefunctions for the two-particle Fock state of the electro...
